This fall in pictures

The time is flying along and I'm not here much so I thought I'd add a bunch of pics today. The order will be messed up as I still have trouble knowing how they'll load but here they are.
Rockhounding Playing in the leaves with cousins.

Enjoying the big leaf pile.

On the Eagle's Nest.

One of our nieces. She looked like a little bird in her nest of pine needles but the pic doesn't do it justice. Still, had to share it.

Jam playing baseball in her jammie pants.

For his Bday present we got Bruce this US camo outfit from a surplus store. He's pretty excited.

Grampa waiting for the rest of us to finish up our walk in the woods.

To those who were there... can you tell she's about to fall? Poor girl. This pic still makes me laugh.

Some of the cousins

Grampa and Honey.

40 candles can really melt the chocolate on a cake!!

See, that's a lot of fire for one little cake!

Here we are enjoying the fair. This was the first year we tried the midway. The girls and Bruce had fun. I confirmed the fact that I don't care for rides. I did enjoy the rest of the fair though. The highlight for the girls was watching a cow have a shower. I don't have a pic here of that. Thought I did though...

Being firefighters. There was a hose to carry and a tunnel to crawl through then they had to throw bean bags at a pretend burning building to put the fire out. :) Fun.

Can she bake an apple pie...?

Yes, but she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother :)
We had fun making an apple pie one day last week. Don't worry she's using my dullest paring knife on very soft apples. I don't know what kind they were but they were so easy to cut. She had a lot of fun. It was her first time being allowed to use a knife. I was impressed with how uniform she was able to keep the pieces.

She could hardly wait until her lunch was finished to have the first piece. I had thought we'd save it for supper but it was worth cutting into it to watch her enjoy what she'd helped to make.

Grade One

This week Jam started having homework to do each night. Everyday they have a word of the day. Monday's word was me. Tuesday's was is. Here she is showing off her finished homework. Basically it's lots of practice writing the word of the day. On Friday there will be a spelling test of the week's words. Monday she loved doing her homework but not Tuesday. She still struggles with making the letter s so it was a lot more frustrating writing the word is over and over. It was fun to cut the letters out and glue them on the paper though. She does know how to make the word, just not that pesky s.
Here we are walking to school on the first day. It's just one km to the school from our house. And here are the girlies just before we left on the first day of school.

(Oops, I've gotta edit that pic Honey's wearing a nametag from church. My photo editor isn't working just now so I'll get it in here later.)

A taste of Honey :)

Well, there's too much to catch up on between the last post and this one so I'll just start here and skip the summer. I just looked back over this year's posts and found Jam monopolizing so here are some Honey pics. My personal favourite from the summer.
Ice cream

Driving Daddy's old car.

So, one day she said come see what I made. And here were a whole lot of letters of the alphabet on the chalkboard. She hadn't copied them from anywhere, just made them from memory.

Yes, still likes her thumb.

Kindergarten Graduation

Backwards order again. Someday I'll get it right. Anyway, here are some pics of Jam's graduation.
She got an award for improvement.
This is her teacher.

Getting her diploma :)

Getting some help onto the stairs.

Before we left home.
